Story Behind The Song
I read a novel that had a hollow man in a very minor roll, while I was taking a songwriting class.
We had to write a holiday song, so I wrote a very scary Halloween type song instead of the standard happy Christmas style.
Song Description
This is a description of the hollow man who is pretty scary. He has weird powers and strengths. He can "inhale the dark" " and "hide behind a child's bike." The song lets you know that you are not safe in daylight either.

Lyrics
Hollow Man
Joanne Tramonte (c) May 7, 2008
V-1
I can inhale the dark, the dark
Drink witches brew: Ignite a spark
Hide behind a child's bike
Scare you fast, slip into night
Beware of secrets beneath my cape
Where sharpened nails and spiders wait
CHORUS:
Children cry when they hear my name
I make ghosts seem more than tame
Werewolves can't stand up to me
When I appear, ghosts and goblins flee
In your nightmares I may staulk
The hollow man prowls after dark
V-2
In your window looms my pale face
A see through form of unknown race
A shadowy outline on Hallow's Eve
The hollow man takes what he needs
Guard your babies and loved ones with care
Before I trap them in my snare
CHORUS
Bridge:
You can see through me I never die
I blend in with trees and haunt the night
Be careful you children on Halloween Day!
When my powers are stronger than whatever you pray
The hollow man's hunger is savage and true
Beware little children before I grab you!
