Story Behind The Song
A good friend received a letter from his mother as validation and encouragement just before his wedding. Although his father had passed away years earlier, the letter was full of wisdom & advice "grooms-to-be" would typically hear from a father figure. My friend and his mother were very close and always referred to their mother & son chats as "mom to mans".
Song Description
Traditionally, young men receive words of wisdom from their fathers before entering into vows of matrimony. But when a father is not present, single mothers take on many roles in a young man's life like friend, confidant, advisor and the ultimate cheerleader.
"Mom To Man" depicts one single mother's dedication to being there in a young boy's life for the victories and heart-aches while growing up, and her vision of advice and encouragement as he begins his own adult married life.
