Story Behind The Song
This song was written while I was expecting twins, thus the lullaby feel and the title. The anticipation of having two little ones added to our family was a joyful time in our home.
At the time this song was written we had no idea of the sacrifice it would take to get them here and then to keep them here. The twins were born thirteen weeks early and weighed a mere pound and a half each. They were so tiny and frail and both spent months in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit, first fighting for life, then growing stronger under the care of wonderful doctors and nurses.
The nurses told us we could leave a recording at the hospital for them to play for the boys from time to time when we could not be there to talk with them. They told us that the sound of a parent's voice could help in the healing process. I included "Inspired By Two" on the recording. One nurse commented on the calming affect that particular song seemed to have on the boys. I had played, "Inspired By Two" often while carrying them and I like to think that it was familiar to them and brought them peace and comfort.
I am grateful for the gift of music in my life and I thank my Heavenly Father daily for such a gift and the opportunity to share it with others.
