Story Behind The Song
I love the story Of Huck and Jim and how seemingly 2 very different people were bonded by their friendship. I recorded it myself using piano, pedal steel, guitars and drums. My brother sings Jim's part and I sing Huck's part.

Lyrics
Verse 1
You are a man yet they call you boy
We're travellers, travel down the river
You are a boy yet they call you sir
We're travelling in our darkened night disguise
Verse 2
We're the best of friends
The future is unwritten
Ships passing by
Paper tigers in the night
Chorus
And they say that we're not friends
And they tell us we're too different
But when I fell you carried me
You cried and they took you away
Said you had murdered me
Verse 3
Into the fray freedom don't come easy
Night turns to day burns my back like lashes bleed
I feel your hands holding me so gently
Lifting me up high above the water line
Chorus
And they say that we're not friends
And they tell us we're too different
But when I fell you carried me
You cried and they took you away
Said you had murdered me
Chorus
And they say that we're not friends
And they tell us we're too different
But when I fell you carried me
And they couldn't tell the difference
Between us In the dark
Couldn't tell the difference..
Chorus
And they say that we're not friends
And they tell us we're too different
But when I fell you carried me
You cried and they locked you away
Said you had murdered me
Verse 4
Oh what was it you always said
It's such a shame we must pretend this way
Lord knows the sun will shine
On these tired paths we travel down.
