Story Behind The Song

I wrote this after the death of two of my friends father's-one was like a dad to me. I work on oil rigs(roughneck/motorman) drilling dangerous sour gas wells in Northern Canada 3000 miles from my wife and children and every time I leave-I know I may not come home-it's hard-I get very little time off-4-8 days off every 5 weeks-so I try not to take it for granted...but,it provides a good life for my wife and children .And no one forces me to go...
