Lyrics
Verse: He told her he was a cowboy with songs for music town. He was feeling kinda lost and out of place. Ready to turn right around, and hook it back to where he was from sing to the cattle and the sky, and if no one ever heard his songs he would still get by. She said:
Chorus: Is it like a cowboy to quit when he gets thrown; or if the trail gets a little rough turn tail and head back home? A real cowboy sticks right on the trail, until the job is done. He doesn't sit astride a fence not having lost or won.
Verse: Well I could see him thinking about what she had said. It must have hit real close to home cause his cheeks were a-flushing red. Then he called the waitress over and bought the whole bar a beer. Then he made a toast to that city girl, and in a voice so proud and clear, he said:
Repeat chorus:
Final Chorus: He picks himself up off the ground and rides that bronc again; and travels down that narrow road abandoned by lesser men. He learns from those who went before and found the trails end; is reached by having the courage to get right back on again.
