Story Behind The Song
This song was written about a first-hand experience in a relationship that just didn't work. One side wanted a mature, stable, loving relationship while the other simply wanted the thrill of the chase. Incompatible, but passionate. Impossible, but alluring. On again, off again, on again, off again, with both sides unwilling to end it . . .
Song Description
This is a poignant, bittersweet song of longing for an impossible relationship with the realization that it must end. But will it? The title is almost a question: No More Hellos? And the song ends with "Hello, hello?", implying that there might be yet another resurrection. The male yearns for a stable, loving relationship while the female simply wants the thrill of the chase (and loses interest once achieving the prize). So a decision must be made, but it is painful for both parties.

Lyrics
No More Hellos
Music and Lyrics © Jeff Alan Greenway
She comes with a smile
With love and denial
Her grace and her youth
Awakes an old man
I give her a home
It's all that I own
But the battle is won
So she changes her mind
No more goodbyes
No more hellos
She sits on my knee
She tells me she needs
But if I reach out
Like a whisper she's gone
So I put this foot down (No more playing the clowns)
No more playing the clowns (This world upside down)
But the circus won't leave town (Wish these souls could be found)
And she changes her mind
Who's changing?
I'm changing, you're changing
No more goodbyes
No more hellos
