Story Behind The Song
I wrote the opening couplet after hearing The Amazing Pilots do a gig in Belfast years ago. I loved their conversational lyrics and wanted to do something similar. The song needs another verse (I just repeat the same one twice here) but I like the feel

Lyrics
"I wonder should we call this a day?", he said
She slowly raised her eyes
Faint alarm bells in her head
It took a while for it to register
Then such beguiling thoughts occurred to her
Such an appealing prospect
Such an alluring possibility
The tiniest part of me (her) kept
Wishing that somehow it might come to be
The tables that turned when they met
The start of the upset
And I'm left wondering
If uncomfortable silences get
The better of you yet
Or if you still can't see through
Can't see through, can't see through
Can't see through, can't see through
