Story Behind The Song
I came home from a visit to Nashville to find a foot of water in the lower level of my house - all living space. I couldn't do much about it that night, so I sat down and wrote the chorus for this song. It took me weeks to find the source of the problem and fix it. By that time, I decided the song needed to be about something other than a flooded house.

Lyrics
I NEED A SAVIOR TONIGHT
V.1: The dust from his tires still over the road,
I guessed at the truth from the lies that he told.
The future looks better, but it's hardly bright.
I need a savior tonight.
V. 2: Babies, and bills, and a lawn that needs mowing
I'm standing still, but I just keep going.
I don't need to know if I'm losing the fight.
But I need a savior tonight.
Bridge: Save me, just for now. I'll be all right tomorrow.
I can believe with the sun in my face.
What I got comin' is wide open space.
I know I'll make it, but just in case...
Save me tonight.
V. 3: There's something inside me that just won't give in.
He said I was stubborn, and I like to win.
Tomorrow I'm planning on proving him right.
But I need a savior...
Oh, I need a savior...
I... need...a savior...
Tonight.
