Story Behind The Song
A combination of two actual experiences amalgamated into one story line.
Song Description
They have been dear friends for what seems like forever but she does not want to take it any further. He wants to marry her, but can't take the waiting and heartache of unrequited love any longer. So he's at the critical point of giving up hope of ever being romantically involved with her, even though she is his ?dream girl?. Instead he is talking himself into getting on with his life and search for somebody else like her to marry.

Lyrics
SOMBODY LIKE YOU II
by Joel LaRiccia
I left the car at work
(And) took the long way home
I thought the walk might do me good
(At least) I hoped it would
But all I know is I?ve gotta? go
To save my mind
I?ll have to find
Somebody like you
Somebody like you
Somebody like you
Somebody like you
You tell me we?re great pals
(And) that if and when you marry
You want the guy to be like me
Now that?s just scary!
I can?t keep on like its been
I want more than just a friend!
If I have to start over again
Well, I need to change and make a new life
With a girl who wants to be my wife
Somebody like you
Somebody like you
Somebody like you
Somebody like you
It?s time to take a risk
Even though it makes me sad
I cannot be just friends
Always wishing I had
Somebody like?
INSTRUMENTAL
It?s time to take a risk
Even though it makes me sad
I cannot be just friends
Always wishing I had
Somebody like you
Somebody like you
Somebody like you
Somebody like you
