Song Description
In "Ghosts Of Yore" an old man remembers himself as a young man who goes off to sea on a sailing vessel on which his older brother serves as the first mate. The older brother stages a mutiny and takes over the ship. At the older brother's urging, the young man joins the mutineers. The older brother orders him to execute the captain, which he does out of loyalty to his brother. However in retrospect the young man feels that he was virtueless and without honour and regrets his actions.

Lyrics
GHOSTS OF YORE
Trapped
in my skin.
Where
to begin...
I set sail
upon the sea.
First mate,
the brother of me.
This vessel taught me all I'd ever need.
To get on by and do it honestly.
Then the storm began
and my virtue ran thin.
Stuck
in this skin.
Tied
to my kin.
It came apart at the seams.
One man shouted, "mutiny."
Then my brother next called out for me.
And my musket sent the captain to his knees.
Then the storm began
and my virtue ran so thin.
I took each day as it came my way
as I waged this little war
And I struggled just to find a way
to escape these ghosts of yore...
Then my storm began...
My virtue ran so thin...
Ooo...
