Story Behind The Song
Was asked to write a simple 2 chord song for a guitar group. Decided to write a pentatonic melody over couple of chords. Also wanted to write a song with a long timeline rather than just about an event or feeling

Lyrics
Runaway
When we were young
You know you told me somethin'
On the day we first met
We were only kids
Just havin fun together
But I will never forget
I was just too young
How could I understand
Your lonely fear
But when I had to leave
You held me close and you
And whispered in my ear
Come runaway with me
Runaway with me, runaway with me
Runaway with me
Runaway with me
Runaway with me, runaway with me
Runaway with me
We had so much fun
I saw you Everyday
For a year or more
But then we left town
I had to say goodbye
A single tear you wore
Though many years have passed
So many times I wished
I could go back to that day
And say the words I've said
A millions times in my head
Since I moved away
Come, runaway with me
Runaway with me, runaway with me
Runaway with me
Runaway with me
Runaway with me, runaway with me
Runaway with me
[instrumental break]
And now we're standing here
I see you face is wearing
More than a few tears
They say it tells the story
of every bad choice
you made over the years
How could they know
You never had a single choice
This is how you were raised
We don't say a word...
We just runaway
Come, runaway with me
Runaway with me, runaway.
Runaway with me
Runaway with me, runaway with me
Runaway with me, runaway with me
runaway, runaway with me, run
runaway, runaway with me
runaway.
