Nothing's Safe and Sound
©All Words and Music 2007, 2012 by Warren Hein

It's been a week or so
When you said you had to go
You had enough of our little world
I'm not perfect but I did my best
All you had to do was do the rest
And love me with all your heart

I try to cope these days
In this new phase I feel so unwound
Those words you said
Our love is dead, no way to stick around
Can't turn back time now I find
Nothing's safe and sound
Nothing's safe and sound
Nothing's safe and sound
No no no...

I still hear that slamming door
And your crazy need to even some score
I didn't know we were playing games
You couldn't open up to me
You walked around in secret misery
As if silence could change anything. . .

I need some time and I'll be fine
A little time and I'll be fine
Some time and I'll be fine
I just need time

What a sad story, pained and resigned, very conversational, revealing, and it has a lovely, almost quaint in a classic Mozart kind of way, or a tune that Maureen McGovern would record, that gets the emotion and emptiness across. This is the kind of song that could be a single release from the soundtrack of a movie about a failed relationship.

Nice song, could hear it in a Hall Mark Movie on Sunday Night! If you have the ability to reach that market, your song would be an excellent pitch!! It seems like the tune would fit perfectly in a scene in their films! Good voice, but slightly watch the intonation in the lead vocal a tad......Good luck with the tune!!

Nice melody and heartfelt performance, tasteful doubling in the right places. Vocal is nice and upfront and can hear every single word as it should be in this type of song. I enjoyed this song as it reminds me of another better decade in music.

* Keyboards and vocals stand out
* String lines are clear and lush
* A "Disney" musical feel
* Nice performance and production!

A sad, broken heart song, that the music goes well with the mood of the lyrics.

Great quality recording.

Love your voice and range. And especially in the opening. Sat up on my seat edge. Beautiful voice! Harmonies! Very original and passionate.

Very well sang and produced. Good vocal range. Probably more of an album track than a single
