Story Behind The Song
I was driving through the Youngstown, Ohio area and noticed lots of factories with parking lots full of cars. I started thinking about how each of those workers gets by and what they might be dreaming about during their shifts. I wrote this song in my head during the following 8 hours that it took me to get home. I was able to sit down when I got home and almost play the whole song the first time through.

Lyrics
I work my hands, I work my hands
I work my hands all day on the line
I carry my weight, I carry my weight
I carry my weight all day down in the mine
Yeah, I break my back, I break my back
I break my back every day working in the fields
I shine my shoes, I shine my shoes
I shine my shoes every night before the funerals
Any day now I ?m gonna break free
Any day now, any day now
Any day now I ?m gonna break free
I dream my dream, I dream my dream
I dream my dream every night, I know it?s coming true
I save my money, I save my money
I save my money every week so I can see it through
Yeah I raise my kids, I raise my kids
I raise my kids so they can have what I have not
I give my soul, I give my soul
I give my soul every day, you know that?s all I got
Any day now I ?m gonna break free
Any day now, any day now
Any day now I ?m gonna break free
And I refuse to wonder why
As the years keep passing by
You see, right here?s the only time
That we?ve got, man it?s all we got
Any day now I ?m gonna break free
Any day now I ?m gonna break free
Any day now, any day now
Any day now I ?m gonna break free
