Story Behind The Song
I struggled with getting over someone for a couple years and all of sudden realized I was not waking up thinking about them anymore, and felt so relived to discover they weren't worth either the infatuation OR the criticisms I thought about them.
Song Description
Including Petra Haden's harmonies and violin riffs, and also featuring banjo, flute and an energetic, melodic bass line, this is an upbeat, pleasant mid-tempo Americana-pop song about realizing I was over somebody and the version with lyrics is comical and has a vibe of relief and acceptance. It has interesting backup non-lyrical harmonics in the bridge and builds nicely into a flute and violin duet toward the end.
