Story Behind The Song
As above
Song Description
Rhythm guitar is akin to Undertones style and chorus line came up very quickly when writing the lyrics. Song story developed after the initial "Girl in the Cab" line came up in the head. Then built the story around Girl running away from home, so fits the upbeat/slightly aggressive tempo of the song with a story that's not bubblegum but a bit more real.

Girl in the Cab - Music and Lyrics by Graeme Andrew
V 1
At first Glance this just doesn't seem right.
This lovely girl's absorbed it in her stride.
Its the first time that she knows that she's really got to go.
So instantly she saw his face was Tight.
Then ruthlessly attacked her with his Spite.
And now that she knows she calls a cab and goes
Chorus:
Girl in the cab - running away from her Dad.
Girl in the cab - Mother running outside.
Girl in the cab - Mascara running down her eyes.
Girl in the Cab - I don't know if she's coming back
V 2
She never ever got it right.
Does she have the strength for one more fight?
Will she see the light.
What is your destiny - you deserve this plea.
To run away and be free.
Chorus
Middle/Guitar Solo
Chorus
You can make it - Girl in the Cab
Girl run away Drive away
Girl in the cab - running away from her Dad.
Girl in the Cab - I don't know if she's coming back
