Story Behind The Song
Very cool. I was playing lead guitar for a country band called "Fool's Gold" - damn good band - in Perth. We broke into a two step, and this girl cleared the dance floor. She wasn't puking, or swinging a bottle or morningstar (that would be too obvious), rather, she was kicking ass as the best dancer I'd ever seen, with her "partner". He was pretty good too, but in light of her... I played a solo, and after it, the whole band just hung on the one - for a very long time. Finally, we all looked at each other, and got each other back on track - she'd quite derailed us, this girl was that good. We finally took the tune home, and the next day, I wrote this puppy. That girl could really dance! Yowsers.

Lyrics
A Two Step (above the rest)
we were kickin' it up, double time, down at ____'s Rodeo
hangin' on for dear life was some would-be Romeo
well she could fox trot, do the hammer and twist, by Jove she could do-si-do
the poor green chap, it was all he could do not to two step on her toes...
honey the way you shake that thing out on the ol' dance floor
you've got my body, heart & soul just a-cryin' out for more
i'm on my knees, i'm a-beggin' please, could you be better than the best?
honey, you're a two-ooo step above the rest
solo section over, we were all mesmerized (and quite lost)
by this brown-eyed brunette beauty, just-a-shakin' it before our eyes
she was spinnin' like a top, skip, jimmy & hop, on a roll like a tumbleweed
and all the boys there along the bar were gettin' dizzy from her doin' the deed... so i sang
