It Won't Be The Same

Story Behind The Song

I am a pretty positive person in real life---well, pragmatically optimistic, if there can be such a thing. But there is a part of me that apparently feels inadequate, incapable of getting it right. It's a sort of alter-ego that makes its way into a lot of my songs ---of the ones I have uploaded, "Better Man", or "Million Times" are other examples.

Song Description

A person struggles unsuccessfully not to repeat their numerous past failures, but never gives up the hope that they will eventually get it right.

Lyrics

V1:
I remember all the stupid thing that I have done.
And I wish that I could take it back, but it's been too long.
I can't apologize---up to now, it's been all lies.
Chorus:
This time, it won't be the same.
This time, things will be different.
This time, it won't be the same, it won't be the same.
V2:
All my life, I've been driving through it in the wrong lane.
And I can't help myself, so here I am again.
I can't control the wheel. My hands are broken.
I can't feel.
Repeat chorus.
Outro:
It won't be the same
No, it won't be the same, next time.
It won't be the same --- next time.
