Story Behind The Song
"I wrote this piece while eating at the great and funky Milan Restaurant in the Indian district in NYC's East Village. You should check it out, a visit to the Indian district there is like visiting Bombay/American Hippie. During this period, I was having what might be described as a spiritual awakening. As I looked out into the street from the solitary restaurant window I contemplated the differences between Eastern & Western philosophy and was inspired to write a piece. I wrote this piece in about 20 minutes while being seated there. Shortly, thereafter, I met the miraculous drummer and human being, Pat Petrillo through a mutual musician friend (guitarist, Ron Hayden). I was looking for a new drummer to record with. Ron highly reccommended Pat. I had a 10 minute rehearsal with him and immediately, he played my music magically. I said that is enough rehearsing, let's record. If you listen to his drums, I think you will agree, he is absolutely amazing. Sadly, I had little money at this time and so the recording and mix suffered as a result.
