This song all boils down to the wonderfull chorus...it's a real Billy Joel type hook...old school but a real pleasant surprise after the thin opening and verses. Classic rock.

very retro 60's pop rock sound...the chorus reminds me of early Beach Boys harmonies...good retro groove and arrangement...the simple lyrics also fit this retro pop rock style...the vocal was gritty which gave it a little blues flavor. the melodies were catchy and memorable and overall the song was fun and enjoyable to listen to especially the unpredictable chorus...you paid attention to the details especially in the drum track...
Instrumentation is ok. I like the 12 bar blues riff at the beginning always a classic! I think the lyrics are fairly original which is good - original lyrics are always tough! I think the beat is great - has a nice groove.

Love how you panned the guitars so far apart - really added a fullness to the song. I like the shift to the happy feel in the chorus as well. The tonal quality of electric piano didn't seem to fit perfectly - might have been nicer with a truer acoustic piano sound?
Outstanding. Great instrumentation, loved the changes in tempo, outstanding vocals, and I am a big harmony fanatic. You nailed it, very Beach Boys style. I would classify it more of a rock song than country, but who cares, good music is good music and this qualifies on all counts. Great job.
