Story Behind The Song
I started writing this song way back in 1999. This was intended as a Christmas song for my kids. In 2018, I asked Phillip Moore to do an acoustic version. I hope you like it.

Lyrics
The Best Time Of The Year
It's Christmas Eve, The Elves are working hard.
Santa's out catching Reindeer in the yard.
It's getting late, It's almost time to go.
They gotta dig that sleigh out of the snow.
Oh, it's the best time of the year
cos Santa brings his Christmas cheer. Yes he does.
Everything's packed in back in the Sacks.
The elves are tired but it's no time to relax.
Mrs. Claus kisses Old Nick goodbye.
They all look up cos now it's time to fly.
Oh, it's the best time of the year.
cos Santa brings his Christmas cheer.Oh, Yes he does
Oh, he knows his way, He's done this chore before.
He's got a new turbo sleigh with a sunroof top and four on the floor. oh...
They land on the first roof of the night. Santa slides down the chimney but it's tight. The elves finally get him free. He hates that more than being stuck up in a tree. yeah...
Oh, it's the best time of the year
cos Santa brings, oh he brings that Christmas cheer. oh, Yes he does...
The sun is risin' , the landing gear is on. Santa pulls hard and gently settles down.
They smile, celebrate and cheer cos they know they'll do it again next year.
It's the best time of the year,
cos Santa brings his Christmas cheer. Tiny eyes are smilin' everywhere.
They're lookin' up at the sky. Oh he brings, yes he brings it to you and me and everybody.
It's the best time of the year
cos Santa brings his, oh he brings his Christmas cheer. Oh, his Christmas cheer. Each package is filled with love, oh with love...
