Lyrics
? Reggie had an axe to grind?
Reggie grew up on his daddies farm, just outside of town.
And as a man, he worked the fields from dawn until the sun went down.
The days were long and the work was hard, but Reggie didn?t mind.
He never ventured far from home, and was never hard to find.
But times got tough, money got tight, and he started to feel thr strain.
He lived alone after his wife just trying to ease the pain.
Darkness began to fill his soul, and he could find no joy.
He turned to God, in hopes that religon could somehow fill the void.
Sometimes he thought about suicide and even tried it once or twice,
but his ex-wife and his mother-in-law would be the ones to pay the price.
He could no longer deal with lifes cruel blows, as his mind began to slip,
and on one hot summer afternoon, he finally lost his grip.
With an axe he butchered his wife, and left her where she lay,
then drove accross town to kill her mother, later that same day.
There were no witnesses to his crimes, no one even heard them scream,
but those who saw the aftermath, described the brutal scene.
The voices in my head will not be silent.
There here to stay....
My mind consumed by raging violence.
So lock me away...
The Devil?s hand procedes to guide me,
to his domaine....
The fires of Hell are trapped inside me,
and I feel the pain....
As Reggie raced back through town, he never saw the Sherif?s car.
No on knows where he was headed next, but he didn?t get very far.
When Reggie went before the Judge, he hadn?t much to say.
He snuffed out two gentle souls, and for that he had to pay.
Around these parts many years from now, they?ll still remember the name,
of the peaceful southside farmer who turned viciously insane.
He took away more than innocense and left more than blood stains.
Time will slowly heal the wounds, but the scars will still remain.
