Story Behind The Song
I was just remembering back to a time and place in my childhood memories when we would all run down to the ol' swimmin' hole to cool off from the sweltering summer heat. Those memories always bring a smile to my face, and I hope they do the same for the listener.
Song Description

Lyrics
The Swimmin' Hole © 2009 David W. Folsom & Julia H. Dixon
There's a bend in the river where the water's deep and wide
And plenty of shade where the big fish like to hide
Me and little brother would grab an ol' cane pole
And fish all morning from the banks of the swimmin' hole
Kids from all over the county would come to swim
On Sundays after church the parents all joined in
There was the biggest rope swing you'll ever see
A-hangin' from the limb of a huge oak tree
Let's go do - wn to the swimmin' hole
Let's go do - wn to the swimmin' hole
Oh! That water's cold
But it'll revive your weary soul
So let's go down to the swimmin' hole
Most of my buddies met their sweethearts there
Oh the beauty of a country girl - it's beyond compare
Barbeques and picnics always were a lot of fun
But diving from that rope swing was second to none
Let's go do - wn to the swimmin' hole
Let's go do - wn to the swimmin' hole
Oh! That water's cold
But it'll revive your weary soul
So let's go down to the swimmin' hole
Bridge:
Years have come and gone
But I recall havin' so much fun
So, I'm going back to the coolest place I know
Let's go do - wn to the swimmin' hole
Let's go do - wn to the swimmin' hole
Oh! That water's cold
But it'll revive your weary soul
So let's go down to the swimmin' hole
