This song was inspired by a conversation with an 11 year old musician who lost her parents and was packing up her belongings from her former family home and reminiscing.

The song is in 4/4 timing at a slow tempo in E minor. It begins with a piano introduction, which is the lead instrument of the song.
Female vocals come in with the first verse at :25. In keeping with the minimal nature of the song, female solo vocals continue throughout the song without backup vocals and take the listener through a verse, pre-chorus and chorus. This pattern repeats with two lines at the end of the song.
Cello accentuates the song after the first verse at: 1:27 to 1:50 and enters again at 2:10 to 2:15, 2:40 to 3:20 and 3:36 to 3:48.
