Lyrics
Over the ceiling I'm peeling a blanket from three old stuffed animals with five eyes in total, one's gone.
There's a sword made of foil lying next to a cape made from mom's old curtains, it used to help us escape.
And I'd say something like, "I'll catch all the bad guys and I'll save the world," cuz I'm Supergirl. And maybe for a second, I'd save all my imaginary friends.
But I'm not fantastic anymore
And all my imaginary friends forgot to call
And the superhero sobered up and saw the world was really just the world
So the blanket on the sofa is the only place where I'll crawl in and curl.
Pictures that I didn't take, with inspiration that I didn't make: it's weird
Forced positivity about the happiness that's right in front of me, that I can't see.
And maybe a cat in a tree is just a cat in a tree, and cats don't speak. Still maybe for a second, I'll hang in there.
But I'm not fantastic anyway
And all my imaginary friends could not be saved.
And the superhero sobered up and saw the the world was best all on its own.
So this blanket and this sofa are the only things that I'll take from this home.
I'm not fantastic, I'm okay.
And I'm not that super anyway.
