Alone

Story Behind The Song

We had 30 acres of forest. The path into the forest was covered in bright yellow maple leaves. I wanted to take a picture, but the next day their color was drab. It made me think of the passing of Autumn and where it leads. It wasn't until a year later, after my divorce that I wrote the song.

Lyrics

Alone By Einen

Autumn dreams of spring
New green against an azure sky
breezes, cotton clouds
floated slowly by.
Hand in hand we walked
And talked
Sharing whispers lips on lips
making memories
that are dear to me
love is such a mystery (pause)

Now I walk alone
It is Autumn raining
my eyes reflect the grey
And beneath the trees
Where we once strolled
Lies a blanket of gold
I see one leaf fall, alone.
