Story Behind The Song
I wanted to create a tension feel in the music, using the 7th note of the scale while the tonic is played throughout the piece. Additionally, adding to the tension, I used 5 notes on each beat with the pizzicato strings. I feel it subtly adds an additional feeling of uneasiness for the listener. I kept it orchestral and felt this could be used as an opener to a movie, along the lines of Nightmare Before Christmas and Harry Potter.
Song Description
The piece starts out in free tempo with a horn then eases into a steady beat for the rest of the song. Anticipation is created with the strings from the beginning and the horns blast away at the climax of the song. There are subtle moments of whimsical and fantasy like orchestral sounds throughout.
