Story Behind The Song
The song was originally written in the early 80's with a different title and lyric contributed by a girlfriend. It was never quite right (and neither was the girlfriend). I recently dusted off the music, thought about what the song was really about, and tried to write the most basic lyric I could think of.
Song Description
Lover Boy is an upbeat dance song reminiscent of R&B songs from the 60's. You will probably recognize the opening bass line has been used in numerous hits through the years. As with so many songs, this song is one more way of saying "let's do it".

Lyrics
Lover Boy
Baby I just want to be your lover boy
Make you scream and holler
Make you jump for joy
I'll be William Powell you be Myrna Loy
I just want to be your lover boy
I've got your number
Written her on the wall
I've been thinkin' 'bout all the things
I want to say
When I finally get the nerve to call
Chorus
Let's cut to the chase
And get to the bottom line
I'd get down my knees and beg for you
'Cause I really want to make you mine
Chorus
I've had such a crush on you
Ever since the day we met
And the way you make me feel
Is just about as good as it gets
So just say yes
Don't be coy
Just let me be your everlasting lover boy
Chorus
