Every Traveller

Story Behind The Song

The music for this song was written while I was living in Copenhagen, the lyrics were written while sitting alone one night on the deck of a ferry sailing across the North Sea from England to Denmark.

Song Description

This song describes the longing for companionship and friendship while on the road. With lush percussion, sensitive drums and bass together with acoustic and atmospheric electric guitar, this arrangement provides the perfect backdrop to the vocals.

Lyrics

Can you lend me what I need if I
say it won't be for long
just enough to stop me from goin'
back to where I am coming from
I'll do it for you
if you should turn one day
and ask if I've been that way

You know the dark side
where it gets hard to keep track
and you go missing for so long
but you always make it back
so tell me how
and I won't ask again
every traveller needs a friend
