Lyrics

Blue Collar Babies
Dick Wagner

We've gotta roll outta these city lights.
The traffic's all jammed up on the river side.
Don't plan on comin' home tonight.
And if that ain't cool, I don't really care.

It's Friday night on the boulevard.
I got a third rate job and a second hand car.
But I don't let it hurt my pride,
Tonight I feel like a millionaire.

Cause baby I'm streetwise and almost grown.
I can show you some tricks my old man don't even know.
I'm movin' faster baby, so hang on tight.
My needle's buried, and it feels all right

Streewise, almost grown.
Let me take you some places your old lady wouldn't go.
Blue collar babies on a red hot ride
And I'm gonna shift you into overdrive!
Right now!

Hey listen baby, it's a long way home.
And if you don't wanna play, youre gonna be on your own.
Have it any way you want, but we both know how you really feel.
I know you ain't been around that much,
But baby you got some kind of magic touch.
You better give it up tonight, 'cause you know I ain't afraid to steal it.

They know that I'm streetwise and almost grown.
I can show you some tricks my old man don't even know.
I'm movin' faster baby, hang on tight.
My needle's buried and it feels all right

Streetwise, we're almost grown
Let me take you some places your old lady wouldn't go
Blue collar babies on a red hot ride
I'm gonna shift you into overdrive!
Right now!

Baby I'm streetwise, almost grown.
I don't give a damn what my old man knows
I'm movin' faster baby, hang on tight.
My needle's buried and it feels all right.

Streetwise, almost grown.
I'm gonna take you some places your old lady wouldn't go
Blue collar babies on a red hot ride
I'm gonna shift you into overdrive! Yes!
