Story Behind The Song
I was on my way to church one morning and saw homeless man asking for money at the exit by my church. Everyone was to busy going to church to stop and help him. The irony is that they were too busy going to church which is where they learn that they "should" help people like him.

Lyrics
Take a walk with me; Tell me what you see
I see a man in tears unclothed
Let's take a walk again and see our broken friend
Well his tears have left him cold, dead, and alone on the streets
His heart was broken; he lived just to eat
Oh if only we'd taken him in
It could've changed; It could've changed
Let's look across the road, Another woman with a heavy load
Well her burdens run too deep
Abandoned at the age of 10, Her father left and no one took her in
Well she's walked a lonely road
She's had no place to call her home,
With 4 abortions she's scarred and unknown,
Oh if only we'd taken her in
It could've changed; She could've changed
Chorus:
Oh, Lonely this road that I wander
But the pain I cannot know
Skilled at filling my life with distractions
From the pain I cannot know
But the pain I want no tears on my pillow
But the pain I can't ignore...it won't go away (please go away)
There's a growing need to help the friends that we don't know
There's a growing greed, won't you live in the sunlight
Hey you over there with your guilty stare
Won't you give it away.......
Won't you give it away....you've got green in your pocket
Oh give it away....
Chorus:
