Lyrics
VERSE 1:
When I was a young boy
My daddy use to tell me 'bout the good old days
Now that I'm older,
He still teach me 'bout life in many ways, he says
BRIDGE
Don't forget how to farm boy
So you can feed your family off this here land
Don't forget where you come from
What I'm gonna tell you will make you a better man
When you get you a wife boy,
I want you to take care of her with tender loving care
She's a lot like this farm boy
Put in time and hard work she'll come through year to year
CHORUS:
Good lovin' ain't easy
It's gonna take time and hard work for it to bloom
After every season
It'll all turn around and come back to you
Good lovin' ain't easy
Time you finish then It's time to start over again
Find every reason
To plant plenty love until the end
VERSE 2:
My daddy has passed on
I still sit and think about the things he'd say
I'm sharing it with my teenage son
So he can teach it to his own boy someday
BRIDGE: REPEAT
CHORUS: REPEAT
VERSE 3:
Now that my son is grown
He's got a good job and a family of his own
I heard him say to my grandson
the words my daddy use to say back on that farm, he said
CHORUS: REPEAT
