Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song one morning six months after my boyfriend and I began living together. We shared a very small one room apartment which was perfect for us. I realized how happy I was to get up in the morning and share a cup of coffee with him. I would always open up the shades and let the sun in. I had to express these emotions in a way that others could relate to. So many people ask, "what is the secret to life?"...to me, the secret to life is within us all...you just have to hear the drums that beat out the tempo.
Song Description
A feel-good song about how happiness isn't about how much you have. It makes you consider what's most important in life and where happiness in life comes from.

Lyrics
Hear The Drums
Coffee in the pot. Sun through the shade.
I don't have a lot....but I sure got it made.
Man by my side. A laugh in the air.
It's a hell of a ride....taking me there.
Chorus:
I've seen bad times and been down bad roads
And..I've felt pain like everybody else.
There's no secret....life's no mystery...
It's dancing to music that plays within yourself.
A warm inviting bed. Two arms that hold me tight.
And all that once was dead...now screams with life.
Chorus:
I've seen bad times and been down bad roads
And..I've felt pain like everybody else.
There's no secret....life's no mystery...
It's dancing to music that plays within yourself.
Bridge:
You gotta hear the drum beating out the tempo.
Gotta let it move you from your soul
