Story Behind The Song
I was playing in a band back in the 1990's and this was one of the first songs I recorded on my first 4 track tape machine. I've always felt that that people want you to be so many things that you are not that I had to express it in song. We did play out with this song and it always went over really well. Fast forward to 2007 and I have an up to date studio and I decided to record the song over with a different feel than what was previously performed. I played all the instruments and drum programming along with midi drums. I asked my friend Mike to come down and do the vocals. I am really pleased with the results. I think it sets a mood just right for thinking about ones self.
Song Description
An intropective look into one's self and how we all put on a different face or appearance for different people or situations and that it can be hard to show who you really are to the world out fear that you will not fit in. But in the end you can stand up and say this is me and I am one of a kind, as are you.

Lyrics
v1. Nobody seems to undertsand me, they think I'm losing my mind. They want me to be like them, but I tell them I'm one of a kind. chorus. (and) We all have a change of face. We're out just to sell ourselves. A new crowd or place. It's so hard, just so hard to be your self. v2. I wish they'd all release me, I feel I'm losing my mind and I can't tell how long it's been since I laid it on the line. You see time for me's been wasting. I need some peace of mind and I've got the feeling again, for those dreams I've got to find. v3. I realize it's all worth escaping, I owe myself the time. (and)I can never be like them 'cause I tell'em I'm one of a kind.
