Story Behind The Song
Upon hearing Bob Bentley's moving and beautiful instrumental, "The Drawing Room", I purchased a download of his file and lyrics came to me automatically. I 'saw' a young woman, living in a great house in England with a beautiful drawing room, during WWI, awaiting her lover where they had once met, before he was called up to go fight in France. Not knowing if he would return, "for change is always certain....", she waited in the drawing room, until and if, he did.
Song Description
I sent a quick recording of my lyrics and vocals to Bob, and he was so kind in allowing me to vocalize these lyrics, and together, we honed it down over several takes and weeks, until we both were happy with the resulting master. Thank you again Bob, for your wonderful music, your kindness and expertise involving ourcollaboration, and a genuine, (abeit long distance), friendship, resulting from our efforts!

Lyrics
Golden light streams
Warm airy dreams
That filters through the autumn ar
We held each other tight
On warm summer nights
I always loved to meet you there
Always loved to meet you there
In the drawing room
I do not know if you'll return
For chance is always certain
I'll steal away until you do
Behind these lush blue curtains
In the drawing room
Just to be with you
In the after glow of love
Just to be with you
After glow of love
(Break)
Golden light streams
Warm airy dreams
That filters through the autumn ar
We held each other tight
On warm summer nights
I always loved to meet you there
Always loved to meet you there
In the drawing room
I do not know if you'll return
For chance is always certain
I'll steal away until you do
Behind these lush blue curtains
In the drawing room
Just to be with you
In the after glow of love
Just to be with you
After glow of love
In the drawing room
