Story Behind The Song
The line" there's a hole" had been in my head for sometime. When my Mom died, it seemed perfect to use this phrase to describe my state of mind, sadness, thoughts of My mom in the great Beyond. Finally, other fmaily members can have conflict with each other in their own grief, so my finall thoughts to my Mom were to assure her (and me) that I'd be fine until we meet again.

Lyrics
There?s A Hole
(c) 2004, words and music, Colleen Coadic
there?s a hole growing in my roof
I can see forever gaping through
my word is huge
but I am small in it
I?m staying in this room until the hole is fixed
there?s a world deep inside of me
I feel it calling when I breathe
rumbles of the fear
flashes of the truth
raining down on me to cleanse me of my youth
listen in silence
if you listen in shame you must begin again
chorus: now the ladder?s gone
I cannot reach you to be strong
the storm has washed away my calm
I?m lost from where I once belonged
are you waiting there for me
just beyond my destiny
another chance for me to love you
solo
2nd chorus: now the ladder?s gone
I do not need you to be strong
the storm has brought me back my calm
I?m back to where I once belonged
I?ll be waiting there for you
past all the lives we?re passing through
another chance to love for you too
there?s a voice singing in the dark
sending life flowing through this heart
there is light carpeting the floor
there is love just beyond the door
2nd chorus:
