Story Behind The Song
I first encountered this William Blake poem back in the very early 90's when I was studying English Literature at the University of Athens.
I was studying music, too. So I penned down a first version of the song and let it lay around.
Years passed. I've made 6 solo albums. During the relaxed sessions of my 7th album this song just came up again.
I just remembered it's existence with no apparent reason.
Of course, there was a reason and I realised this when I played it from memory [which is very strange in itself. I can't play my old songs from memory. This is a weeak point of mine.
I made some necessary adjustments, added the organ theme and ... there it is.
It goes without saying that it ended up in my 7th album.

Lyrics
The Garden of Love
BY WILLIAM BLAKE
I went to the Garden of Love,
And saw what I never had seen:
A Chapel was built in the midst,
Where I used to play on the green.
And the gates of this Chapel were shut,
And Thou shalt not. writ over the door;
So I turn'd to the Garden of Love,
That so many sweet flowers bore.
And I saw it was filled with graves,
And tomb-stones where flowers should be:
And Priests in black gowns, were walking their rounds,
And binding with briars, my joys & desires.
