Lyrics
I came all the way from across those hills,
seemed like I'd never get back here.
Get so tired hearing the same things day-to-day,
so get out your fiddle, let an old-time tune play.
Dredge me up some memories, wrapped in melody.
Get out that fiddle, let an old-time tune play.
There's never enough time to take and see
a trip back to the way things used to be.
There's something about what that wood and wire can say,
so reach into that case and make that thing play.
Drag that bow across those strings, make that thing sing.
Get out that fiddle, let an old-time tune play.
People these days ain't noticing too much,
can't open their eyes, or find something to love,
now I ain't one for today's old sturm-und-drang,
so get out your fiddle, let an old-time tune play.
Speak to me in jigs and reels, gimme somethin' I can feel,
Get out that fiddle, let an old-time tune play.
Tune up your fiddle, let an old-time tune play.
