This is an "observation" song (aka Don Henley) and perspective of our dear, Hollywood, after having spent half my life there. An "observation" song and perspective of our dear, Hollywood, after having many years going there and being able to fly into the flame and still escape semi-unscathed. Lots of vivid lyrics that will possibly make you chuckle. LA has changed sooo much since I first visited there back in 1960 as a kid. So, I've seen the transitions....some good, some bad...but it is still an interesting place where I might still be living in...if the state of California, the state taxes, political corruption, over-priced real estate and chaotic social agendas weren't spoiling it. It is disheartening to see such a great state (and "land") abused, raped and pillaged.
