started of with a doubt, but. ended with no doubt
Firstly..this is beautiful. Superb lead and backing vocals. The acoustic guitar work is terrific and the tone is wonderful..Let me guess..A Taylor guitar? Very nicely recorded and arranged. The changes at 1.16 and 3.06 are excellent. Shades of Joni Mitchell and CSN in this song. No bad thing as I love their stuff.
Nice vocal. I like the change of mood. The transition back is nice and smooth. The harmonies are nice. The guitar playing is real nice.
Fantastic instrumentation and vocals! Has a very 60's folk rock feel to it.
weird structure, but I liked it. strong central part
Crisp opening guitar, well played. Very smooth, relaxing sounding vocals. Verse sections develop really well with some nice backing vocals. Interesting change at the chorus with an almost psychedelic feel. A pristine quality recording and great production.
Love the fingerpicking. Very smooth. The lyrics are pretty strong too. I see lots of images being drawn with words. I like that kind of writing...I think the vocals are perfect for this song. I do think they could have been a bit louder, or the guitar a bit lower, because I had trouble hearing the lyrics cleanly at times. BUT STILL, sweet tune. Don't know how original the topic is, but it is nicely done, so "originality," while important is not the most critical quality of a song. Lots of songs with our emotions tied to the rain, but some (like this one) tend to stand on their own.....I would hope a song like this would have a shot on mainstream radio. I know that I it easy-on-the-ears and enjoyable, but it is different from what we often hear on mainstream radio...But different is good. I think you've got a pretty sweet tune here. It's nicely put-together. I also enjoy the harmonies.
The imagery is beautiful. And I like how the lovely guitar and vocals build to a heightened, contrasting swell of music in the B part, and then eases back off again.
