Here's a straight to the heart story of a sad breakup...that might not really happen if the songwriter has his way. The lyrics paint a cold winter picture paralleled with a relationship that has gone south. The images portrayed in the lyrics are so real (hall of pictures, Texaco station). The Bridge is carefully crafted to pull the song elements together toward the end. Obviously this songwriter knows what he is doing. I really like the hook! Very memorable.
I'll admit i don't listen to this style of music very often...but playing a lot of country music and doing a great deal of country sessions in Nashville and playing with Mel Tillis has really helped me to identify a well written tune...and you've written one...great job, intelligently written,a lyric that told a story!

A very nice piece very smooth the vocals definitely flow with the melody. Although the vocalist is very good I can tell that his voice has far more power than he is releasing in the end of the song. This would be a great match for a film or TV placement. This would be a great addition to any music library or any publishers catalog.
This could be a country crossover with Americana/folk...The intro grabbed me as a contemporary country song...the prosody is good...the lyric matched the sadness of the music...The melodies were all well crafted and memorable. Your vocal fit the Americana folk genre well. I could hear this being used in a tv show or movie as background music...

The instrumentation and production of this song was great. It had a really nice feel too it. The song told a story, which is exactly what Country music is all about. Overall, very nicely done. I enjoyed listening to it.
