Story Behind The Song
The author, Mike Jeffress, writes this song with a passion born out his own personal prayers and struggles being the father of a chronically ill son.
Song Description
A father once brought his demon possessed boy to Jesus to be healed. Jesus' disciples couldn't heal him. In desperation the mans begs Jesus, "If you can do anything, please help my son." Jesus replies, "If? All things are possible to the one who believes. The father replies, "Lord I do believe, please help my unbelief."
Like the father in this story we face struggles and areas of weakness in our faith and need to pray this same "simple" prayer: "Lord, I believe, please help my unbelief."

Lyrics
Lord, I Believe
Mike Jeffress ©2005
Lord sometimes my faith grows weak
Like lead?s weighing down my feet
My courage often fails
Not enough wind for my sails
But I recall a father
Whose little boy You once saved
I remember how he struggled
And the simple prayer he prayed
Chorus:
Lord, I believe
Please help my unbelief
Lord, I believe
Please help my unbelief
Lord, sometimes I run and hide,
Keep all my feelings locked inside
I slip and slide, sometimes I fall
And wonder if I?ll make it through it all
But I recall a father
Whose little boy You once saved
I remember how he struggled
And the simple prayer he prayed
Repeat Chorus
Bridge:
Even though my faith grows weak
Hear my prayer down on my knees
Even though my faith grows weak
Hear my prayer down on my knees
Lord I believe
Lord I believe
Lord I believe
Lord I believe
