Story Behind The Song

I wrote this shortly after a difficult divorce, while living in Boulder, Colorado. I could see the mountains from where I sat on my piano bench, and this song was a passionate expression of the heights I was personally aiming for.

Song Description

The piece begins softly, meditatively, exploring a theme in a minor key, building in intensity and complexity to dramatic heights, then finally coming to a beautiful ending, almost an echo, which resolves into a soft major chord.
