Story Behind The Song
Late night gig in Nyak, nursing baby waiting at home and I only had three hours with Daddy home with baby, til she'd need me...
I missed my exit and ended up going over the George Washington Bridge into Manhattan
And wrote this song while sobbing with my blinkers on in the "emergency lane" of the bridge
CAlled it into my home answering machine.
My husband picked up after I finished singing
and told me to take West Side HWY SOuth and it woujld be even quicker home than Palisades Pkwy

Lyrics
I wonder what would come out
Of I slowed myself down
Maybe I could get some sleep
If I weren't always pacing
for this never ending always starting trip
What would be lost indeed
If I let this take as long a it needs
I'd have one perfectly packaged treat
Instead of bits and pieces
in this hurried race toward meant to be
I want to Spill My Soul
I want to Spill My Soul
Where is that Peace
In the gap between what has been and will be
I try to peel back layers
and put forever where today is supposed to be
When the gift I unwrap
Is un manifest and un tapped
and I untie this bow
I want to Spill My Soul
I want to Spill My Soul
Of what I know and what I fear
and where I go and what I feel
and what it seems versus
What I meant to be
When the gift I unwrap
Is un manifest and un tapped
and I untie this bow
I want to Spill My Soul
I want to Spill My Soul
