Story Behind The Song
My friend Vern Davison, a bachelor, has lived in remote in Alaska, off the grid, for decades, raised in WNY near me. He catches a ride with the mail plane , if it is running, from the closest village, Beaver, up along the Yukon River if he needs to go to Fairbanks or such. He takes a boat ,or in winter a snow machine on the frozen river, to get to Beaver. Vern wrote a poem in 2017, "Ode to Lone Lobo". He asked me if I could make it into a musical ballad. I found the ballad in the poem, making required editing and changing the title to "Lone Lobo".

Lyrics
Lone Lobo
I walked along to tide's old song while deep within my dreams
Lone Lobo, a moonlit stroll, when abeast arose out of the sea. It
came ashore with a mighty roar and stood in front of me
Man, he said, you are distressed, son what can it be?
Sir , said I, I can't describe the way I feel insi- ide. It's
warped my soul, my mind it stole and left me here to di- ie
Lo-one Lobo
Son said he, come walk with meJust what do you see? I
walk the road of life alone there is no one for me. I've
searched the world from east to west in solitary fate. The
years have passed like a high speed train and now it is too la - ate, for
Lo-one Lobo. Said
beast to me -you do not see where in your blessings lay
you are free in yourself complete wish not a different way
Many a man has gave his all to share his soul in vain. It's a
strain and pain, be grateful it is neither your loss nor your gain. The
fog burned, the beast returned a vapor to the sea. They
filled my head, the words it said, a message for you and me- e.
beast was wise, I realized for my Lone Lobo way, was
not a curse but indeed a thirst for a life of many plays
I'm not restrained to a single roll but as many as I see
Bless the world and all its charms waiting there for me
Lone Lobo Lo-one Lobo
