Story Behind The Song
Wrote this tune after watching one of my favorite westerns,"Ride The High Country". I'm a professional circus clown, and I know the feeling of loving what you do, and the price you have to pay to travel the gypsy road. This song was a title cut to a very popular Jerry Jeff Walker, released in 1979.
Song Description
This is a rambling cowboy song about what's in your arms, and what's over the hill.

Lyrics
Too Old To Change
Published/BMI
Growin grey around the temples/And you'll see days when I won't shave/I got a habit of trippin over rippples/And watching them roll into waves/
I'VE BEEN TOO LONG RIDING THE RANGE/RUNNING WILD WITHOUT REINS/AWAYS TRAVELING AGAINST THE GRAIN/PRETTY GIRLS DESERVE BETTER/BUT I'M TOO OLD TO CHANGE
2.Can't say I'm sorry about the life I led/All the places I ran off to see/ I don't make excuses if the sun comes up/But going home never dawns on me
CHORUS
3. Better get gone graceful/As graceful as wrong can be/But as I grow older I'll look over my shoulder/What you meant to me/ I gotta go on-CHORUS
