Story Behind The Song
It really happened!
Song Description
Very impressed by the vivid images, story theme, tri-melodic structure and classical ending of The Hollies "Bus-stop" pop song, I recorded this song about a Cornwall, England relationship, on an amplified 12-string guitar in an Englishman's living room in Bermuda.

Lyrics
SAINT MICHAEL'S MOUNT
(Verse 1)
I caught the train to Penzance, Cornwall
Near St. Michael's Mount
Then I lost my true love on the causeway
From St. Michael's Mount
She was waiting, no more dating
Wedding bells could chime
But St. Michael's told her not to
It was not our time!
-oOo-
(Bridge)
Low tide, we were happy laughing
Seagulls singing, waves were splashing
Walking to the island on dry ground
High tide, sun was slowly sinking
She was sad and I was thinking
Water's rising round St. Michael's Mount!
-oOo-
(Verse 2)
On the causeway, from the island
She cried and ran ahead
Standing in the waves and seaweed
I knew our love was dead
Wind was blowing, I stood there knowing
She'll run until she's free
Knights in armor, maidens crying
St. Michael's history
(Instrumental)
-oOo-
(Bridge)
Low tide, we were happy laughing
Seagulls singing, waves were splashing
Walking to the island on dry ground
High tide, sun was slowly sinking
She was sad and I was thinking
Water's rising round St. Michael's Mount!
(Verse3)
I caught the morning train to London
I'd lost that love that counts
Leather of my shoes still soaking
From St. Michael's Mount
She was waiting, no more dating
Wedding bells could chime
But St. Michael's told her not to
It was not our time!
Ahhhh...
(Reprise Instrumental)
Ahhhh...
