Story Behind The Song
I was having a major case of writers' block, so I decided to do a cover version of a simple early rock tune. There are a thousand different renditions of this, most are up-tempo but I thought it might work at a more laid back tempo. This was fun, and it helped to break the log jam....
Song Description
Jazz/easy listening version of the 1958 Bobby Freeman tune. I added a bridge to flesh out the lyrics and tell a bit more of the story.

Do You Wanna Dance
Original Music and Lyrics by Bobby Freeman (1958)
Bridge lyrics by Bill Dake 2014 ASCAP
Arrangement by Bill Dake 2014 ASCAP
Do You Wanna Dance
Then take my hand
Tell me I'm your lovin' man
Baby, Do You Wanna Dance?
Do You Wanna Dance
Under the moonlight
Squeeze me, hold me all through the night
Baby, Do You Wanna Dance?
Do Ya, Do Ya, Do ya, Do You Wanna Dance?
Do ya,
Do You Wanna Dance
Do You Wanna Dance
Be Ginger Rogers
To my Fred Astaire
You know you love those movies
Let's make some magic of our own to share
I think this times is ours
It's written in the stars
Do You Wanna Dance
And make romance
Come on, take a chance
Baby, baby, Do You Wanna Dance?
Do You Wanna Dance
Under the moonlight
Hold me all through the night
Baby, Do You Wanna Dance?
Do ya, do ya, Do You Wanna Dance
Do ya, do ya, Do you Wanna Dance
Do ya, do ya, baby Do You Wanna Dance
Do You Wanna Dance
