Story Behind The Song
I contacted SongU.com member Mitch Townley in 2007 about co-writing a song for the Advent Praise contest. Micah Tapp recorded the demo for us and, five months later, we found out our song had been selected.
"Soli Deo Gloria" is on a praise CD that was distributed to Seventh-day Adventist churches across North America. Each song has attached slides with scenery and lyrics that display so people can sing along.
(I had a second song selected, "Only You," which I co-wrote with Eva Wilson, who Mitch hooked me up with.)
Song Description
"Soli Deo Gloria" means "Glory to God alone." It is a song of worship, praise, opening the heart for God's leading, calling on his name...and shouting out his praise. Originally demoed as an intimate voice and guitar praise song, this is the gospel cover.

Lyrics
Verse 1:
Father we come in the Spirit
To worship before your throne
We offer our praise in your presence, Lord
For you are Jehovah, alone
Chorus:
Soli Deo Gloria, rejoice and sing
Praise to you, our Holy King of Kings
We shout it from the mountains, lift our voices up and sing
Soli Deo Gloria, Soli Deo Gloria
Verse 2:
Marvelous, wonderful Savior
Counselor, Prince of Peace
We open our hearts to your leading now
And call on your name in this place
Chorus:
Soli Deo Gloria, rejoice and sing
Praise to you, our Holy King of Kings
We shout it from the mountains, lift our voices up and sing
Soli Deo Gloria, Soli Deo Gloria
Soli Deo Gloria, Soli Deo Gloria, Soli Deo Gloria
Soli Deo Gloria, Soli Deo Gloria, Soli Deo Gloria
Chorus:
Soli Deo Gloria, rejoice and sing
Praise to you, our Holy King of Kings
We shout it from the mountains, lift our voices up and sing
Soli Deo Gloria, Soli Deo Gloria
Soli Deo Gloria
