Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song when I was 14. It was late on a saturday afternoon, mom was making burgers, and I was in my bedroom with my first guitar. The sun was setting through my big, glass bedroom windows, which faced west and looked out onto giant pine trees.
Song Description
I wrote this song to perform in a show w/the Germantown Theater Guild when I was 14. Our performance was also filmed and Broadcast on CBS.

Lyrics
LISTEN - a nature song
(words & music by Annie Lynn)
One morning I ventured out for some fresh air
I felt the cool breeze, blow through my hair
I took a good look at the fish in the brook
They had not to fear the man and his hook
CHORUS:
Please don't send me away,
Just sit down and listen to what I must say
I've looked at our world, and I love what I see
But lately some things are troubling me
If we don't take care of our earth and the sea
Our planet won't make it, it'll just cease to be
CHORUS:
Please don't send me away,
Just sit down and listen to what I must say
BRIDGE:
We can make it better
We can make a difference
If we change our wasteful ways
Maybe we'll have more days....
So love your earth, take care, watch her grow
Make an example, and others you'll show
Speak out for her rights and you'll never be wrong
Together we'll make it, our earth will be strong
CHORUS:
Please don't send me away,
Just sit down and listen to what I must say
Please don't send me away,
Just sit down and listen to what I must say
