Feeling awkward and misunderstood at fifteen.
Craving independence but afraid of what it means.
Wanting a say, but don't know what to say.
Fast forward to college and the thrill that it brings.
Finding the 'one' and giving rings.
Promises of always being in love.

We make our Choices. We find our voices.
We use them to heal or hurt as we learn who we are.
If we're the lucky the lesson becomes clear.
That our Choices can make or break a heart.

Years fly by with soccer and dinners to make.
Short-tempers and short-sighted words leave an ache.
Not realizing how much they sting.
After the kids have made lives of their own,
comes the time that you see all you wish you had known.
What you'd give to rewind and just have more time.
